10:00am Holy Eucharists & Laying on of Hands & Anointing for Health & Wholeness
2 December @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
An event every month that begins at 10:00am on day First of the month, repeating until 2 December 2018
Laying on of Hands
From the Catechism, pages 845-862
The sacraments of the church are Baptism and Holy Eucharist (the two sacraments of the gospel), and Confirmation, Ordination, Holy Matrimony, Reconciliation and Unction.
All sacraments are “outward and visible signs of inward and spiritual grace, given by Christ as a sure and certain means by which we receive that grace”.
Unction is the rite of anointing with oil and the laying on of hands, by which God’s grace is given for the healing of spirit, mind, and body. All sacraments “sustain our present hope and anticipate its future fulfillment”. “Our assurance as Christians is that nothing, not even death, shall separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
All Saints invites you to receive this sacrament following reception of Holy Eucharist. Like the Holy Eucharist, the sacrament for personal health and healing of body, mind and spirit is repeatable. It will be offered on the first Sunday of every month at the prayer desk by the Lady altar near the Market Street entrance. Following the Great Thanksgiving I will go to the prayer desk while the Eucharistic ministers administer. If individuals wish to participate in the sacrament of unction they then can come to the prayer desk (to either stand or kneel) waiting in turn by the last pew.
We have a rich tradition that can be drawn upon for the continuing growth of God’s kingdom on earth.
